We were very lucky to venture to the beautiful city of Pisa last month in search of stunning marble for one of our commercial clients.
As every piece of marble is completely unique, our client wanted to hand pick the pieces for their build, and where better to do so than the birthplace of marble?
We had an action-packed trip to Pisa which included visits to a number of quarries plus a little bit of sightseeing along the way. The architecture in Pisa is completely stunning and most of the landmarks are made of marble, which proved for a very interesting visit with our lovely clients. We also had chance to spend all of 10 minutes on the beach!
It would be impossible to take a trip to Italy without indulging in some delightful Tuscan cuisine and eating in some unique restaurants definitely made our trip even more worthwhile. Below you can see the clam pasta dish polished off by Derek (not quite all to himself!)
Now, the Natural Stone team are lucky to see beautiful marble everyday. But some of the freshly quarried marble slabs we saw made even our experienced staff speechless. The effects that nature can create on these natural stone tiles is breathtaking and you only need to browse some of the photos we took below to see this.
After a busy few days, we are pleased to report that they found the slabs they were looking for which are now in the process of being shipped over to the UK. We were very proud to see a big 'sold' sign on the marble, meaning our client has not only chosen a very special marble, but a completely one of a kind collection.
